The L5000 - Honeywell Lynx Touch Wireless Alarm features one of the most technologically advanced control panels on the market. With its sleek design and bright 4.7 inch color graphic touchscreen, the Lynx Touch provides total control of your system through a simple and easy-to-use interface.
The L5000 Lynx Touch Wireless Alarm system is equipped to offer burglary protection for your space or home. Conveniently, however, the L5000 can support up to 64 wireless zones. This means that sensors—be they motion or smoke detectors, carbon monoxide sensors, and other emergency accessories—can be integrated into your system to provide the most all-around protection possible in your home, regardless of size.
The Lynx Touch keypad is user-friendly and menu driven, featuring easy to understand icons, quick accurate programming, and four dedicated keys for control of everyday functions. When the system is triggered, the touchscreen will display the zone and description of all system occurrences, as well as initiate the appropriate alarms. The Lynx Touch features a built-in sounder which will sound during alarms and trouble, which is nice because you won't need to buy an additional siren for the system. Furthermore, the unit features a built-in speaker that announces system status, so you won't have to be directly near the unit to be informed of the problem. The unit can store up to 128 events.
Remote Phone Control
Unique to this system is its built-in Remote Phone Control Feature. The Lynx Touch is equipped with the capability of allowing you to control your system remotely from any private telephone. This is ideal for the homeowner or family that simply isn't home all of the time. With special programming, the L5000 Lynx Touch Wireless Alarm can provide appropriate voice messages and beeping sounds that will inform you of the system's status over the phone line, so you know exactly what is happening in your home no matter where you are. With the Lynx Touch you can perform any of the following functions remotely through a phone:
- Disarm the system
- Arm the system in STAY or AWAY mode
- Bypass Zone
- Check System Status
GSM Communication
Additionally, the GSM Communicator Module is built-into the system. So NO PHONE LINE IS REQUIRED. The GSM module will allow you to both send and receive SMS (text) messages to and from your private cellular phone. With this module the Lynx Touch can be programmed to TEXT in case of an emergency, while arming, disarming and other remote commands to your system is as simple as sending a 1 to 3 word SMS message instantly. If, however, you prefer to use an Alarm Monitoring Station service (sold separately), an operator can call your private phone to alert you that an event has been triggered, and you can communicate your commands to the operator him/herself.

BUILT IN GSMVLP5
The GSMVLP5 is a communication module intended for use with Lynx Touch Wireless Alarm controls, and provides wireless communication with the AlarmNet network for backup delivery of alarm and other messages to the monitoring central station. It also supports voice communications between the control panel and the Central Station.
This communication module transmits signals via the AlarmNet-G network (GSM cellular network), using GPRS and forwards them to your Central Station. If the GPRS network is unavailable, the GSMVLP5 will attempt to send the transmission via SMS.
Features:
- Built into the Lynx Touch Wireless Alarm
- Simple programming using a 7720P programming tool or via the AlarmNet Website (we will program this for you)
- Reports fire, burglary and status messages via GSM
- Allows uploading and downloading of control panel data via GSM
- Uses 2-way ECP communication with the control
- Enables two-way voice (AAV) communication between the control
- Sends reports in Contact ID format
- Supports remote control of alarm system via Remote Services Feature
- Fully powered (primary and backup battery) from the control
The GSMVLP5 provides the following types of supervision and module fault detection:
-
Network communication failure: IN the event the AlarmNet network does not hear a supervisory message from the module within a specified time (“Supervision” option, 24 hours, 30 days, or none), AlarmNet notifies the central station of a communication failure.
-
Communication path failure: in the event the module detects a communication path failure, the control panel can be notified of a trouble condition with the module after a specified time has elapsed.
Remote Services Features
Remote Services allow the end user to communicate with their Security System remotely via several features. Availability of this service is controlled by the dealer via the web-based programming tool on the AlarmNet Direct website. Once enabled, the specific programming fields associated with these features can be programmed either remotely using the AlarmNet Direct website or locally using the 7720P Programming Tool. These new web services will allow users to:
- Receive e-mail and text message notification of system events (Multi-Mode feature)
- Access their security system from a computer via a website (Remote Access feature)
Perform system functions and receive confirmations using text messages (SMS feature)
